Our Inventor Presentations are due today. So far we have studied several important famous (and not so famous) inventors throughout history. It is interesting to hear the stories behind some inventions and machines that we use everyday.
We also learned about a modern day inventor named Dean Kamen who is responsible for designing the Segway, FIRST robotics, a new type of wheelchair and now the Slingshot water purification system. Check out his story at http://www.slingshotdoc.com/ And learn the story behind other inventions at PBS's "How We Got to Now" series. http://video.pbs.org/program/how-we-got-now/ Our first two projects this quarter are Google presentations- one about a college (due Oct. 17) and one about an inventor (due Oct. 23). So far so good, I'm impressed with the presentations that were turned in so far.
